ABOUT CURB
Every fall, Curb is produced and published by a class of students in the UW–Madison School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Complimentary copies are distributed to thousands of alumni across the state.
Celebrating its 23rd edition, Curb is a lifestyle magazine produced annually by University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Journalism and Mass Communication students. Students work together in a capstone course to create individual stories, alternative stories and multimedia pieces to share with others.
Multiple past issues of Curb have won national and state awards. Curb Pause, our 2020 issue, won the Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence award for best affiliated website and was a national finalist for best student magazine, a distinction the magazine earned in 2012 and 2014.
Curb is sent out each year to more than 10,000 alumni. We wouldn’t be here today without the J-School alumni who created the past 22 editions of our magazine. Curb is published through generous alumni donations, including support from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication Board of Visitors, and is printed in partnership with Royle Printing in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.
